Empty Nest

Just a little fire

It really was.  I had turned on the oven to cook some chicken.  I haven't cooked in that stove in months.  I usually use my toaster oven.
Sat down in the living room to do a view things, smelled something and went into the kitchen to my oven.  The one that was on fire.  It wasn't a big fire but I turned off the oven and closed it back up. Called 911 and what a mess I have now. 
Maxi had so much fun barking at all of those guys wondering what the hell was going on.. Geeze.  So
I called the landlord and told him about it and he just came by and said he'd probably get me a new oven.  That's fine with me, the one I have is about 20 yrs old but if he does the same thing with the stove that he did with the refrigerator....I won't be able to put a pizza in it.  AND...he'll probably sue me........

Sunflowers..

I know, I've not been blogging so there's probably no one to see the sunflowers but I'm posting these pictures (with more on Flickr) anyway.  I think its so funny that the seeds dropped by birds turned like these did..

Sometimes.......

The race.  You know, the horse race yesterday.  The one Big Brown was supposed to win,  Yeah, that one..
Well a bunch of us got together to watch history being made.   Knew I didn't have a chance but ya never know.  They we had a "draw".. Everyone put in 5 buck,, drew a name and that was your horse to win.  Naturally no one paid any attention except who got Big Brown.  I never heard of the horse that I drew.  Everyone kept trying to get the person that had BB to sell.  She wasn't going that route she was keeping BB...
Ran the race, you know that BB didn't win but   DA'TARA the horse most of us never heard of won and  I HAD HIM!!!!

MY FIRST SUNFLOWER

I have a semi field of these things.  They've grown from sunflowers the birds dropped.  I decided to leave them and see what happens.  This is just the beginning .  Some of the tallest ones come up to my chin.  They haven't bloomed yet but they're trying...

The one everyone cares about is Zoot.  She sounds tired and a bit uncomforable but better than yesterday,  Having never had a"C" section I have no idea how it feels but there must be a good reason you stay in the hospital that long.
AndyZ is doing fine so, I've indluded a few pics of AndyZ meets NikkiZ,
